Fujian Luoyuan Bay Port’s First Imported Coal Carrier Reached Port Safely After Opening Up

At 9:00 AM on July 29, the “Yudean 8” Bulk Carrier, carrying 70,300 tonnes of Indonesian thermal coal, arrived steadily at No.2 berth of Luoyuan Bay Port in Lianjiang Company of Fujian Company, marking the first imported coal vessel docking at the Port’s recently approved berths No.1–3 for opening up. It is also Fujian Company’s first imported coal procurement via foreign exchange settlement, signifying a breakthrough for China Shenhua’s energy supply system in Fujian Province and its international resource coordination capabilities.

To diversify fuel supply channels and strengthen resource supply capability, Fujian Lianjiang Company fully takes advantage of Luoyuan Bay’s deepwater port. Taking the opportunity of port opening up, the Company has carefully analyzed international coal markets, selecting low-sulfur, high-calorific-value coal types tailored to the high-efficiency combustion demands of power plants. It also strengthened coordination with local departments of commerce, customs, and commodity inspection, meticulously sorted out permit lists, clarified clearance requirements throughout procedures, and seamlessly integrated the entire process from vessel arrival, documentation review, to cargo release. To ensure smooth full-process operations of the first foreign exchange settlement order, a dedicated team systematically studied the independent customs declaration and foreign exchange payment procedures within CHN Energy’s units, establishing standardized operation protocols, streamlining payment procedures, and negotiating preferential exchange rates. Despite typhoon effects from “Francisco” and “Co-may”, the team maintained 24-hour dynamic tracking of the vessel, adjusting sailing speeds in real-time in coordination with the shipowner, ensuring the successful delivery of 70,300 tonnes of thermal coal.

Since the peak summer demand period, the Company has fully leveraged the “port-power integration” operation advantage, transforming port location benefits into development momentum, solidifying the regional energy supply foundation while exploring a replicable new model of imported coal procurement, ultimately injecting robust impetus into China Shenhua’s sustained growth in Fujian Province.
