Recently, the China Electricity Technology Market Association announced that CHN Energy Jinjie Company’s project “Anti-Corrosion Optimization for Desulfurization Absorption Tower Tray Beams” was awarded the four-star honor “2025 Anti-Corrosion and Protection Technology Innovation for Power Equipment”.

This achievement involves optimizing the connection welds between the rigid trays and anti-wear protective covers of absorption towers. The original 50mm single-layer glass flake corrosion-resistant protection was upgraded to an integrated protection structure—combining the tray and shell as a flake-layered system, with reinforced protection by wrapping of modified PTFE fiber fabric outside the flakes, effectively preventing weld cracking caused by long-term operation vibrations. The new solution is cost-effective, with a short payback period, effectively overcoming the technical bottleneck of frequent corrosion failures in traditional tray beams. Maintenance intervals and equipment lifespan after optimization are extended with significant enhancements in reliability and safety.
